Greenland Halibut

Le flétan du Groenland (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides) est une espèce de poissons plats de la famille des Pleuronectidae. C'est la seule espèce de son genre Reinhardtius (monotypique). Noms Le flétan du Groenland est aussi appelé turbot, flétan noir, flétan bleu, petit flétan, turbot de Terre-Neuve ou turbot du Groenland, à ne pas confondre avec le turbot des Français (Scophthalmus maximus) ou le turbot (en anglais) des Américains (Hippoglossus stenolepis) !

The Greenland halibut or Greenland turbot (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides) belongs to the family Pleuronectidae (the right-eye flounders), and is the only species of the genus Reinhardtius. El fletán negro​ (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides)​ pertenece a la familia Pleuronectidae y es la única especie del género Reinhardtius. Es un pez depredador que se encuentra principalmente a profundidades entre 500 y 1000 m en las aguas frías de los océanos Atlántico norte, Pacífico norte y Ártico. Por influencia anglosajona también se conoce como halibut negro o halibut de Groenlandia.
