Smithers's horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus smithersi) is a species of horseshoe bat found in South Africa and Zimbabwe. It was described as a new species in 2012. Taxonomy and etymology Smithers's horseshoe bat was described as a new species in 2012.

Los murciélagos de herradura del género Rhinolophus, del griego clásico ῥίς (rhís), "nariz", y λόφος (lóphos), "cresta", constituyen el único exponente de la subfamilia Rhinolophinae, nombrada por John Edward Gray (1800 - 1875), en 1825.
