Le mot Orphie est un terme du vocabulaire courant qui désigne plusieurs espèces de poissons marins au corps allongé et au museau en pointe, de l'ordre des Beloniformes. Ce nom ne correspond pas à un niveau précis de classification scientifique des espèces. C'est-à-dire qu'il s'agit d'un nom vernaculaire dont le sens est ambigu en biologie car il désigne seulement une partie des différentes espèces de poissons classées dans l'ordre des Beloniformes.

The Atlantic saury (Scomberesox saurus) is a fish of the family Scomberesocidae found in the North Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, Canada south to Bermuda and North Carolina in the western Atlantic and from Iceland to Morocco in the eastern Atlantic, it is also found in the Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Aegean Sea. Description The Atlantic saury is an elongated slender fish with very long, beak-like jaws with minute teeth. The fish grow to about 35 cm (14 in) in length, with a maximum length of 50 cm (20 in).

El sauro atlántico, paparda del Atlántico o alcrique (Scomberesox saurus) es una especie de pez beloniforme de la familia Scomberesocidae. ​ Descripción Tiene el cuerpo alargado, con las mandíbulas largas y finas y dientes pequeños. ​ Tanto la aleta dorsal como la anal se encuentran situadas en la parte posterior del cuerpo, y detrás presenta espinas pequeñas.
