Sebastes hopkinsi, the squarespot rockfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the subfamily Sebastinae, the rockfishes, part of the family Scorpaenidae. This species is found in the Eastern Pacific. Taxonomy Sebastes hopkinsi was first formally described in 1895 as Sebastodes hopkinsi by the American zoologist and teacher Frank Cramer with the type locality given as Pacific Grove, California.
