Great Basin Fritillary

Speyeria egleis est une espèce nord-américaine de lépidoptères de la famille des Nymphalidae et de la sous-famille des Heliconiinae. Dénomination Speyeria egleis a été nommé par Hans Hermann Behr en 1862. Synonymes : Argynnis egleis Behr, 1862 ; Argynnis montivaga Behr, 1863 ; Argynnis astarte Edwards, 1864.

Speyeria egleis, commonly known as the Great Basin fritillary or egleis fritillary, is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It is found in the United States, where it has been recorded from North Dakota southwest through Oregon to California and south to Colorado. The habitat consists of mountain meadows, forest openings and exposed rocky ridges.

Speyeria es un género de lepidópteros de la familia Nymphalidae. Son mariposas de tamaño mediano a grande, de color naranja con diseños negros. Las larvas se alimentan de especies de violetas, género Viola.
