Atlantic Chupare

Pastenague (nom fém.) est un nom vernaculaire porté par plusieurs poissons différents, presque tous du genre « raie ». Comme souvent chez les poissons, un même nom peut être associé à des espèces différentes en fonction des régions ou des habitudes.

The chupare stingray or Caribbean whiptail stingray (Styracura schmardae) is a species of stingray in the family Potamotrygonidae, found in the western Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Campeche to Brazil, including the Antilles. The presence of this species in the Gulf of Mexico has not been confirmed. It also occurs in the Bahamas.

La chupare, lebisa o raya coluda caribeña​ (Styracura schmardae) es una especie de pastinaca de la familia Potamotrygonidae distribuida por el Océano Atlántico occidental desde el golfo de Campeche a Brasil, incluyendo las Antillas. ​ La presencia de esta especie en el golfo de México no ha sido confirmada. ​ También aparece en las Bahamas.
