Guanahacabibes Trope

Tropidophis xanthogaster est une espèce de serpents de la famille des Tropidophiidae. Répartition Cette espèce est endémique de la province de Pinar del Río à Cuba. Elle se rencontre dans la péninsule de Guanahacabibes, une zone couverte en partie par le parc national de Guanahacabibes et en totalité par la réserve de biosphère du même nom.

Tropidophis xanthogaster, also known commonly as the Guanahacabibes dwarf boa and the Guanahacabibes trope, is a species of snake in the family Tropidophiidae (dwarf boas). The species is endemic to the Guanahacabibes Peninsula, in the province of Pinar del Río, western Cuba. Etymology The specific name, xanthogaster, from Greek xantho- (yellow) and gaster (venter), refers to the yellow underside of this species.

Tropidophis, del griego clásico τροπίς (tropís), "cresta", y ὄφις (óphis), "serpiente" es un género de serpientes que pertenecen a la familia Tropidophiidae. Se distribuyen por Sudamérica y las Antillas. Se trata de serpientes de entre 30 y 60 centímetros, según la especie, terrestres, que viven en la selva.
