Black Marlin

Le makaire noir ou marlin noir, Istiompax indica ou Makaira indicus, est une espèce de poissons qui vit dans les zones tropicales et subtropicales des océans Indien et Pacifique. Il est la seule espèce de son genre Istiompax (monotypique). Description Sa taille maximum est de 465 cm et son poids maximum atteint 750 kg.

The black marlin (Istiompax indica) is a species of marlin found in tropical and subtropical areas of the Indian and Pacific Oceans approximately between 40 degrees North and 45 degrees South, while in some instances venturing into more temperate waters. Reaching lengths of over 4. 5 m (15 ft), it is one of the largest marlins and also one of the largest bony fish.

Istiompax indica, también conocido como marlín negro,​ es una especie de actinopterigio de la familia de los istiofóridos. Es la única especie de su género Istiompax. Fue clasificado por Georges Cuvier en 1832; originalmente llamado Tetrapturus indicus.
