Blue Blanquillo

Le malacanthe bleu (Malacanthus latovittatus), également appelé matajuel bleu ou sans-culotte, est une espèce de poissons marins à nageoires rayonnées de la famille des Malacanthidae. On le trouve dans l'Indo-Pacifique. Étymologie Son épithète spécifique se compose de latus signifiant « large » et vittatus signifiant « rayé », en référence à la bande noire présente sur les flancs du poisson.

Los blanquillos (Malacanthidae) son una familia de peces marinos incluida en el orden Perciformes. Se distribuyen por los océanos Atlántico, Índico y Pacífico, entre 10 y 500 m de profundidad (normalmente entre 50 y 200 m). ​ aunque la especie Malacanthus latovittatus puede encontrarse también en estuarios.
