Malacanthus plumieri, the sand tilefish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish, a tilefish belonging to the family Malacanthidae. It is found in the western Atlantic Ocean. Description Malacanthus plumieri has a highly elongated, slightly compressed body with a slender, rounded head.
