Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

Le Machaon tigré ou Papillon glauque (Papilio glaucus) est une espèce d'insectes lépidoptères (papillons) qui appartient à la famille des Papilionidae, à la sous-famille des Papilioninae et au genre Papilio. Cette espèce diurne a été le premier papillon américain ayant fait l'objet d'une illustration. Le dessin a été réalisé par John White en 1587 et est actuellement conservé au British Museum.

Papilio glaucus, the eastern tiger swallowtail, is a species of butterfly native to eastern North America. It is one of the most familiar butterflies in the eastern United States, ranging north to southern Ontario, Canada, and is common in many different habitats. It flies from spring until fall, during which it produces two to three broods.

Papilio alexiares es una especie de mariposa del género Papilio, familia Papilionidae. Pterourus es considerado un subgénero de Papilio. Descripción Las antenas y la cabeza son de color negro, en esta presenta dos líneas de color amarillo por un lado de los ojos.
