Tetrapturus belone, le Marlin de la Méditerranée, est une espèce de marlins de la famille des Istiophoridae. Répartition Ce poisson se rencontre dans les pays suivants : Albanie, Algérie, Bosnie-Herzégovine, Chypre, Croatie, Égypte, Espagne, France, Gibraltar, Grèce, Israël, Italie, Liban, Libye, Malte, Maroc, Monténégro, Portugal, Slovénie, Syrie, Tunisie et Turquie. Sa présence est incertaine au Portugal, en revanche il est particulièrement abondant au large de l'Italie.

The longbill spearfish (Tetrapturus pfluegeri) is a species of marlin native to the Atlantic Ocean where it is found above the thermocline in open waters between 40°N and 35°S. This species can reach a length of 254 centimetres (100 in) FL and the maximum weight recorded is 58 kilograms (128 lb). It feeds on pelagic fishes such as needlefish, tuna, and jack, as well as squids.

El marlín del Mediterráneo o aguja de pico corto (Tetrapturus belone) es una especie de pez perciforme de la familia Istiophoridae. ​ Descripción Su tamaño máximo registrado supera los 240 cm y el peso los 70 kg. ​ Distribución Es una especie propia del mar Mediterráneo y del mar Negro, donde es especialmente abundante en las costas de Italia y Túnez.
